FAQs

What is the Assistive Devices Program (ADP)?

The Assistive Devices Program (ADP) is a provincial funded program that helps individuals with long-term physical disabilities access equipment such as walkers, wheelchairs, scooters and specialized seating.

The program typically covers up to 75% of the cost of approved devices. An ADP authorizer, such as Rebekka OT Services, is required to complete a comprehensive assessment and submit the necessary documentation.

What do you mean by "vendor of your choice?"

You are not required to purchase equipment from a specific supplier. Following your assessment, you may choose any ADP-registered vendor to provide your equipment.

We can coordinate with them to ensure proper fit and set up, but the decision is always yours.

How do I pay for services? Do I receive a receipt?

Payment is accepted by e-transfer, cash, cheque, major credit card, or secure online payment, and is due at the end of each visit.

A detailed receipt is provided for all services and can be submitted to private insurance (where eligible) or used as a medical expense for income tax purposes.

Completion of insurance forms or supporting letters is available upon request; additional fees apply.

Do you handle direct insurance billing?

Direct billing is available for select insurance providers. Please provide your insurance information at the time of booking, and we will attempt to submit the claim on your behalf.

If direct billing is not available, payment is required at the time of service. A detailed receipt will be provided for reimbursement through your insurance plan, where occupational therapy is covered.

How quickly can I book an appointment?

Appointment availability varies depending on location and service type. We aim to offer timely appointments whenever possible. Urgent appointments may be able to be addressed within 5 business days, depending on availability.
